ONUNU AND FISH PEPPERSOUP: A TRADITIONAL NIGERIAN FOOD FROM NIGER DELTA

Onunu is a popular Indigenous delicacy among    the Southern part of Nigeria. It’s a special traditional delicacy served during traditional wedding ceremonies among the Kalabari and Okirika people of Rivers state, Nigeria.  The delicacy is locally called Temburu it involves pounding a mixture of yam with ripe plantain and palm oil with a pinch of salt. The delicacy is served with fresh fish pepper-soup  traditionally called Odufulo.

Plantain & fish;popularly know as Bole and fish originates from rivers state, Port Harcourt to be precise the southern part of Nigeria.  You will find Bole and fish on every road side in the garden city of Port Court. Bole is very popular in this part of the world. It is usually sold on the roadside on locally made grills. Now this is a recipe for you to make in the comfort of your kitchen.  Ingredients Bole and Fish: Chopped Peppered Fish:  Titus Fish Fresh pepper (Blended) Onions (chopped) Garlic Seasoning cubes Salt to taste Palm oil Bole Plantains (Slightly or unripe) Peppered Fish:   Preparation Bole and Fish: - Properly clean fish and wash well.
